Life Story for Jennie Turkstra (Blaauw)

Jennie  Turkstra (Blaauw)
Jennie Turkstra of Zeeland, Michigan formerly of Homewood, Illinois, was called home to glory, October 10, 2009. Jennie was born December 11, 1911 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Johanna and Ludolf Blaauw. She grew up in Roseland, a Dutch enclave of Chicago, IL. She met John Charles Turkstra and they were married for 54 years. They were members of Bethany Reformed Church until his death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Charles Andrew Turkstra. Jennie moved to Royal Park Place in 2000. Mrs. Turkstra is survived by her two children, Barbara and William King Jr. of Holland, MI and Bruce Turkstra of Kirkland, WA, four grandchildren, Wendy and Craig Spoelhof, William and Elizabeth King III, Christopher and Linda Turkstra and Matthew and Erin Turkstra. Jennie was blessed with eight great grandchildren. VisitationThursday, October 15, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL with the Reverend Steve Deur officiating.
