Dear Dee: My belated condolences to you on the passing of Dave. I'm very sorry. I have thought of him many times and was hoping for one last visit now that we have moved back to the area. He was always very nice to me and we shared many fun times and experiences on those car rides from the southwest side to the Sun-Times building, before stepping into the craziness of the newspaper business. I can tell you that everyone who ever worked with Dave really liked him and thought of him as a great Prep writer, bowling writer and the dependable scribe at the Dog Show each year. Also, I knew of his great love for growing those rose bushes in your yard. He always spoke with such great admiration and love for you and your dedication to the teaching profession. Stay strong as you continue a transition period of your life that I'm sure isn't easy. Love John
