Memories of Grandma

What I remember doing with grandma is having her come over the day we put up our Christmas tree and eating lasagna and having her help and unpack the ornaments including some that she made herself.

Another memory is going out for pizza at Aurelio's every week once she recovered from her hip surgery which we did for the last 8 years.

Also we used to have grandma come over some times on Sunday’s and have lunch and tea time with her while playing a game usually cards and always saying that she doesn’t know how to play and then end up beating everyone every time.

I also remember having grandma come to grand parents day every year until she got too old when I was in high school because of the stairs.  It was always fun to show her my classroom and have her meet my teachers and friends and do the special activities they had planned.

I also remember celebrating her 90th birthday at the Holland home right after her hip surgery.  We brought with the china and got fried chicken from Jewel and just had a nice little dinner with her on her birthday when she probably wasn’t feeling so good and in quite a bit of pain, but we tried to make it the best we could for her.

I remember grandma always bringing us the candy bars she won playing bingo.

Another thing we did when my family went on vacation we would write postcards to Grandma telling her about our trip. She then hung them all up in a corner of her room and when we came back we would see them there for many years to come.
