Raymond Huisman
Raymond Huisman, died at home, age 90. Served in Army Air Corps (B-17's) during WWII in numerous campaigns and received both Silver and Bronze battle stars. Beloved husband of Evelyn, nee Baker for 68 years. Loving father of Raymond Paul (Gigi), Margaret (late Christopher) Knade, Kathy (Philip) Gruzalski, Sandra (Charles) Metcalfe, Becky (Shawn) Kammer, Lori (late Robert) Elgas and the late Beverly Huisman. Cherished grandfather of 13. Dearest great-grandfather of nine. Fond brother of Thomas, Marion Sperling and the late Peter, Ida, Agnes Pruim, Marvin, and Robert. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Ray was a natural problem-solver with an instinctive curiosity. These attributes, along with a willingness to help, made him the man for any job. He was an expert cabinetmaker and enjoyed hunting, golfing, and fishing for white bass. Visitation Monday, December 1, 2014 from 3-9pm. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 11:00am at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South.
