Aunt Nettie

My earliest memory of Aunt Nettie was visiting her house in Englewood for polio shots.  Shortly after that, they moved to Oak Lawn.  It was quite an adventure to visit their house.  Their house was one of the first ones on the block.  Everywhere you looked there was nothing but prairie.  I remember the cherry tree in the front yard, and how we used to watch a den of foxes from the front porch.  I was introduced to chiggers on a backyard camping expedition at their house.  In later years, the Oak Lawn fireworks could be viewed from their front yard.  It was always hard to determine who had more fireworks, the village or Uncle Paul.

I remember that the Stob family camped before camping was the thing to do.  I remember Uncle john's ever present pipe.

My condolences to the family.
