Apparently hearing is the first to go.....

This was an email that I had sent to my family on 12/21/11. It was truly one of the better parties I had attended in along while..... Last week I joined Mom and her friends at the annual Xmas party in the afternoon at her assisted living center. We had a great time.......it was interesting... I sat next to Mom with her two friends, Ellie and Evelyn across from us,,,the conversation went like this: Evenlyn: "I wonder if they have any cake?" Ellie: " No, they don't have pancakes, its Christmas?" Mom: "Oh no, I don't have any pans, or pots either since I moved here." And I sat there and thought to myself, "my Mom is happy and that is all that matters." On my way home I was so glad the man at the liquor store took my American Express card because I had no cash on me!!!
