William Gleeson

William G. "Bill" Gleeson, age 78, U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran serving aboard the USS Walke. Bill passed away on March 17, 2025 in Columbia, Maryland. Former longtime resident of Orland Park, IL. Beloved husband for 53 years to Frances "Fran" Gleeson, nee McGarvey. Loving father of Kristin (John) Tyrrell and Kevin (Jessica) Gleeson. Cherished Papa of Ian, Frani, Sydney, Wyatt and Jack. Devoted son of the late James Gleeson and Marillyn Adelsbach. Twin brother of Robert (Kathleen Felmey) Gleeson. Dear brother-in-law of Linda (Jim) Giertych, William (Diana) McGarvey, the late Kathleen Masco, the late Jack McGarvey and JoAnn (Jim) Doran. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Bill grew up on the Chicago's South Shore along Lake Michigan, where he cherished his time at the beach. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired from United Airlines. Bill had a passion for golfing, fishing and going to the beach. Above all, he valued spending time with his family. A devoted sports fan, he loved football and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears as well as all the other Chicago teams.

Visitation Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 2-6 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Relatives and friends are invited the following day to meet directly at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL for Interment with Military Honors on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Keep to the right and you will see a sign for funeral processions.
