William Leo Doherty, age 92, US Army Veteran, cherished husband of Phyllis (nee Kill). Devoted father of Cindy (late Pete Covelli) Thompson and Karen (Bruce) Swiecicki. Proud grandfather of Rebecca (Eric Vanderploeg) Thompson, Nicole Thompson, Jordan Swiecicki, Megan Swiecicki, and Ryan Swiecicki. Loving great-grandfather of Luke Thompson, Elizabeth Kustra, Adam Kustra, Dallas Vanderploeg, and Declan Vanderploeg. Dear brother of Richard (Sandy) Doherty and preceded in death by 12 siblings. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service and burial will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois.
