William Brushaber

February 16, 1941 — January 15, 2025

William L. Brushaber, affectionately known as "Railroad Bill," age 83, U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband for 60 years to Veronica J. Brushaber, nee Yocius. Loving father of Veronica (Thomas) Stein, Tamara (Mark) Holtz, William M. (Gina) Brushaber, Kenneth (Connie) Brushaber and the late Leonard Brussano. Cherished grandfather of Lukas and Peter Stein; Allison and Hannah Holtz; Ryan Gage, Ashton Brussano, Aidan Brussano;Tommy Meisner and Anthony Julian; Kaylee and Cassie Brushaber. Devoted son of the late William and Isabelle (nee Novak) Brushaber. Dear brother of Darryl Brushaber and Gerard (Marlene) Brushaber. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Bill, a lover of all things trains his entire life, retired as a proud locomotive engineer for both Rock Island and Iowa Interstate Railroads.

Visitation Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 9:45 a.m. from Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL to St. Damian Church, 5300 155th Street, Oak Forest, IL. Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
