Friends and family asked to meet 8:00 AM Wednesday morning for prayers at the funeral home before continuing on to St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church, 17500 South 84th Avenue Tinley Park Illinois 60487, for the 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Vivian will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Joseph at Queen of Heaven Cemetery of Hillside.
Vivian was born and raised on a family farm in Salerno, Italy. Vivian’s husband Joseph had come to America from Italy at the age of 18. Vivian had never met him but knew his sister in Italy. They began writing to each other via handwritten letters and he asked her to come be with him. She bravely left her family in Italy and embarked on an unknown journey to America to meet him in 1971 at the age of 35. They married shortly after she arrived, and welcomed their daughter, Anna, in 1972 at the age of 36. They resided in East Hazel Crest, IL, where she took care of her family. Later, Vivian became a seamstress at Roseland Draperies until she retired in 1995. After retiring, the family moved to Manteno, IL where she took care of her husband until his passing in 2001. She then moved to Frankfort, IL with her daughter where she spent the rest of her years helping raise her grandchildren, Alyssa and Emily. Her family meant everything to her and kept her busy. She enjoyed gardening, making homemade pasta, pizza, and biscotti. Vivian gave her bags of pasta to everyone she knew, including the garbage man and mail lady. She made friends with everyone and looked forward to feeding neighbors and friends. To know Viv, was to love her. She fought Parkinson’s for many years but never let that stop her from all the things she loved doing. Her spirit will live on in her daughter and grandchildren. She is up in Heaven with all her loved ones, making sure everyone is well fed. May she rest in eternal peace."
The Mazzotti family kindly asks that In lieu of flowers you may consider making a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Vivian’s name.
