Troy J. DeBoer

June 22, 1989 — November 6, 2026

Beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Uncle and Child of God.

Troy Joseph DeBoer, age 37, of Orland Park, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on November 6, 2026 in the presence of members of his family.

Troy was born to Cornelius “Corky” and Roslyn (Wolterstorff) DeBoer in Oak Lawn, IL on June 22, 1989. He attended Elim Christian School and lived at Bethshan Association for the past seven years. Over the years he was employed by Silver Lake Golf Course, Top-Line Auto, Palos Sports, and Bethshan Association.

Troy lived a rich life that included fishing and all types of sports. He won several gold medals in the Illinois Special Olympics Golf and also participated in basketball and bocce ball. He also played on the Tinley Park Challenger’s baseball team for many years. Troy watched all kinds of sports and knew the names and jersey numbers of the well-known athletes of almost all the professional sports teams.

Troy was often seen wearing a variety of goofy hats and had many hand puppets and beanie babies. These brought joy to his life and to his family members and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Corky and Roz, his siblings Derek (Amanda) DeBoer, Kelsey DeBoer; his grandmother Lois DeBoer; his uncles and aunts: Karen (Earl) Woudstra, Jane DeBoer, Linda (Dave) Gore, Curt (Denise) DeBoer, Kevin (Bonnie) Wolterstorff, Jane Wolterstorff, and Cheryl Steggerda. Troy was also well loved by his nephews and niece, and his many cousins. Troy was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bret Jordan DeBoer (in infancy), his grandparents Niclas and Clara Wolterstorff, and Jacob DeBoer; and his cousins Nathan Mark Wolterstorff (in infancy) and Army Sgt.
