Thomas Patrick Kelly

Thomas “Tommy” Kelly, age 28, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2026. Born on December 15, 1997, in Palos Heights, Illinois, Tommy was the beloved son of Patricia (Purcell) Kelly and Timothy Kelly and was raised in Homer Glen, where he grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and family.

Tommy graduated from Providence Catholic High School, where he made a lasting impression on the hockey and lacrosse programs. To his teammates, he was more than a player: he was a gentle giant, a loyal friend, a fierce competitor, and a protector who always had his teammate’s back on the ice. He carried that same determination into his studies at Western Michigan University, graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Supply Management. His education became the foundation of a successful career in logistics and transportation.

Some of Tommy’s happiest days were spent at Koontz Lake, surrounded by family and the close friends he loved so dearly. He often enjoyed boating, tubing and always was the last man-standing on the tube. He also cherished snowmobiling and hunting trips with his family.

Tommy shared much laughter with his sister Catie and brother Jack. He also enjoyed playing video games with his friends, especially his brother and best friend, Jack.

Tommy had a memorable presence and a generous, loving heart. He was a respectful person and his bright smile, humor, kindness, and protective nature made people feel seen, safe, and valued. He brought energy and warmth into every room, and his friendships were marked by loyalty and genuine care. Wherever he went, his beloved Jeep was never far away, often with his faithful canine companion, Jager, riding beside him.

Tommy’s life was a gift to his family, his friends, his teammates, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his mother, Patricia Kelly; his father Tim (Alyce) Kelly; his siblings, Catie and Jack Kelly; his paternal grandparents, Rita and Thomas Kelly; his maternal grandparents, Mary and the late Robert Purcell; as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide, devoted circle of friends including his girlfriend Malia, who all loved him.

Tommy will be remembered with affection and gratitude for the years he shared with those who loved him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to his family and friends.

A visitation to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 2-7 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 15050 S. Wolf Road, Orland Park, IL on Monday, September 14, 2026 for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment private at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
