Stewart S. Vander Woude, age 91, WWII U.S. Army Air Force Veteran. Beloved husband for 68 years to Carolyn, nee Hendrikse. Loving father of Cheryl (Charles) Marcus, Marcia (Charles) Kooger, James (Jayne) Vander Woude and John (Janna) Vander Woude. Cherished grandfather of 14. Dearest great-grandfather of 16. Dear brother of the late Martha (late Gerrit) Tibboel and the late Edwin (Wilma) Vander Woude.
Stewart was a retired teacher and principal with over 42 years of dedicated service in Christian Education. He served at Timothy Christian Schools, Waupun, WI, CCHS and 21 years at Southwest Chicago Christian School in Oak Lawn, IL.
Visitation Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem), Orland Park, IL. Visitation continues Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church, 7059 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights, IL from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 10:30 a.m.
Following luncheon, Interment with Military Honors will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
