Sandra Azzarello

Sandra Lee Azzarello, 72, of Palos Heights, IL passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her husband Phil and family on March 27th. Sandy was born February 12th, 1951 to Betty Ruth and Erling William Nelson who preceded her in heaven. She is the oldest of their children that include Kurt William Nelson (Beverly) and Jacqueline Ruth King (Mark). Sandy is survived by her husband Phil; daughters Kathryn Ruth (Josh) Printy, grandson Henri; and Megan Martha Smith, granddaughters Macy, Millie, and Marlee. She is also survived by Phil's siblings and spouses Fran (Kay) Azzarello, Mike (Kathy) Azzarello and Irene (Mike) Forlenza. Sandy was an aunt to nieces and nephews Sheri (Travis) Ferris, Sheila (Clint) Sanders, Eric (Melissa) Nelson, Karl (Jenna) Nelson, Michael H. Notorangelo, Carr (Cameron) Miller and Laura Notorangelo. She is also survived by her blended family nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

Sandy shared her love of music with siblings and cousins, who secretly played her Beatles albums backwards and were in awe of her classical music piano skills and crescendos. She inspired many with her courage battling and living with Multiple Sclerosis.

Visitation Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 3-8 PM. Funeral Service Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10 AM at Colonial Chapel, 15525 South 73rd Ave., (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
