Ruth H. Dotson

Ruth H. Dotson, nee Vanderbeck, age 77, beloved wife for 60 years to Allen A. Dotson. Loving mother of Ronald Dotson. Devoted daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Vanderbeck. Preceded in death by her siblings Richard “Jack” (late Jo) Vanderbeck, Edward Vanderbeck, Florence (late Gerald) Neu, Joyce (late Doug) Harenberg, Joann (late Bruce) Mikkelsen and Nancy Varner. Survived by her brother-in-law Robin (late Debbie) Dotson. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a very loving, caring, and compassionate person. Her gorgeous smile could light up a room. She was always happy and saw the world through the eyes of a child. She strived to find the good in people. Ruth was also an animal lover.

Visitation Sunday, November 8, 2026 from 2-6 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
