Rudy Lazo

July 18, 1939 — February 8, 2025

Rudy J. Lazo beloved husband for 59 years to the late Rosalinda A. "Linda" Lazo (2025). Loving father of Jennifer (Robert Griffin) Lazo, Norman (Lori) Lazo and Jeanette Lazo. Cherished and treasured Grandpa of Arianna Griffin, Robert Griffin III, Darius Boykin and Blake Boykin. Proud and Dearest Great-Grandpa of Sebastian. Grandpa will also be missed by his loyal canine companion Yoshi.

Rudy was a hard-working Certified Public Accountant for the Tootsie Roll industry for 25 years. Grandpa was a true family-man dedicated to instilling virtuous values to his family and friends. Through teaching and mentoring, Grandpa passed along his everlasting knowledge and advice to everyone throughout his lifetime. One of the many accomplishments throughout his life, was being able to build a church and school in the Philippines. Grandpa was a devoted husband, great father figure and truly defined what it meant to be the man of the family. Grandpa’s perpetual support for his children and his grandchildren carried on through his actions including taking them to their sporting events, camping, amusement parks and celebrating educational milestones. Upon retirement, Grandpa loved spending time in his office watching YouTube videos that peaked his interests. He enjoyed applying his intellectual abilities to his day-trading strategies. Grandpa’s adventurous nature led him to be a world-traveler where he would appreciate discovering new sites of life and experiencing different cultures with his family and friends. Alongside Nana, he was also fascinated by the art of building, cultivating, and maintaining a garden in his backyard. His comedic sense of humor brought joy to those blessed enough to hear one of his jokes or take part in his silliness. Grandpa’s integrity, fearlessness and persistent nature to do everything in his power to provide, protect, and shelter his family has inspired this generation and will continue to live on through his family. In short, Rudy J. Lazo was a pioneer, a trailblazer and a true role model, whose journey has just started, and his legacy will live on forever.
