Robert Meier

Robert W. Meier, age 77, U.S. Army Veteran.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Carol, nee DeVries, his two sons Mark (Carla) Meier and David (Jaime) Meier and his two grandchildren Madison and Trevor.

Bob was the middle child of the late Herman and Dorothy Meier. He is survived by his two brothers, William (Patricia) Meier and Gary (Anita) Meier, his brother-in-law John (late Carol) DeVries and many nieces and nephews.

In Bob's youth, he was active in scouts and received the highest award, The Eagle Scout. Bob served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War where he was an air traffic controller. Later in life, he was involved in scouts and baseball with his boys. He also enjoyed golfing and woodworking.

Bob's faith in Jesus Christ, his love for his family and serving his country are what meant the most to him. Bob will be deeply missed by family, friends and all of those that he touched throughout his life.

Visitation Monday, May 19, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Visitation continues Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church, 18324 Ashland Ave., Homewood, IL 60430 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
