Robert Hoekstra

Robert R. “Bob” Hoekstra, age 87, U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on June 23, 2020. Beloved husband for 66 years to Arlene Hoekstra, née Evers. Loving father of Cindy (Ed) Schutt, Dale (Joni) Hoekstra, Rev. Timothy (Laura) Hoekstra, Daniel (Jana) Hoekstra and the late Janice Kay Hoekstra. Cherished grandfather of 16. Dearest great-grandfather of 27. Dear brother of the late Laverne (late Jack) Wagenaar and the late Donald (Joyce Davids) Hoekstra. Much loved brother-in-law of Chester, Jr. (late Myra) Evers, James (late Marilyn) Evers, Phyllis (late Charles) Persenaire, Sharon (Ken) VanderWoude, Laurel (Martin) Douma and the late Richard (Dorothy “Dottie”) Evers and the late Donald Evers. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a humble, kind, fun and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was devoted in his ministry serving at Kuyper College and Elim Christian Services.

Private service and burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
