Richard E. Paz

Richard E. Paz, age 86, beloved husband for 58 years to Herminia, nee Villegas. Loving father of Richard (Jodi) Paz and Robert (Shelley) Paz. Cherished grandfather of Anthony (Angie), Alexander, Alyssa (Alexa), Kalani (Trevor), and Kai; Makayla, Hannah, Liam, and Adaline. Dear great-grandfather of Nicholas, Alexis and Daniel and great-great-grandfather of Ozzy and Vinny. Dear brother of Julita, Cezar, May and the late Medina and Rudolfo. Dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Richard came to the United States in 1962. He was a graduate of Loyola Academy in Winnetka, IL, where he was the chess champion, and he also earned a degree from DeVry Institute. He retired from Dow Chemical Corporation. An avid bowler and a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, he was moved to tears when they won the 2016 World Series.

Funeral Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 10:15 a.m. from Colonial Chapel to St. Julie Billiart Church, 7399 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, IL 60477. Mass 11:00 a.m. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
