Richard P. Kooy, age 88, U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband for 64 years to Katherine "Kay" Kooy, nee Smilde. Loving father of Annette Goris, Peter (Shellie) Kooy, John (Tammy) Kooy, Gwendolyn (Ray) Jendra and Mary (Glenn) Pniewski. Cherished grandfather of 12. Dearest great-grandfather of 12. Dear brother of Johanna (Jack) VanManen and the late Charles Kooy. Fond brother-in-law of Edward Smilde. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Retired teacher from Trinity Christian College and Chicago Christian High School.

Visitation Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Visitation continues Monday, March 20, 2017 at Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church, 7059 W. 127th St., Palos Heights, IL, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m.. Committal Service with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
