Richard Breen

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard H. Breen Sr. of Orland Park, IL. Rick passed away January 13th, 2025, with his family by his side. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Rick was a devoted husband of Virgina Breen (Stine), loving father to Karen Culver (Mike) and Rick Breen Jr. (Dawn) and a proud grandparent of Declan & Caden Culver.

Rick will be missed immensely by everyone who knew him. When you met him, you knew you were in the presence of greatness. He always listened intently, asked the best questions, never judged, and gave the most solid, grounded advice you could ask for.

He was a teacher to many, his family, friends, and officially as an electrician. His students still talk about him and often share what a great instructor he was, taking the time to teach in a way they understood. He cherished his friendships, and our hearts are warmed and memories stirred as everyone shares their stories.

His love of golf was instilled in his grandchildren, and he devoted countless hours to watching and talking with them about one of his favorite sports and everything else in their lives.

Rick and Ginny were married for 57 years, and that love is a roadmap for us all.

The family will have a small private celebration of life where memories will be celebrated.
