As a child Reuben loved to play baseball, and played on the team at Farragut High School where he graduated in 1942. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, he returned to Chicago and pursued a career in professional baseball that was cut short by an injury in 1947. He then enrolled and graduated from Worsham Mortuary College and briefly worked at a funeral home but soon understood his interests were in finance and mortgages. For over 30 years he worked in the banking industry. He met Elsie Bauman and married her on October 30, 1948. Si's true passion was his commitment to Jesus Christ and spent his entire life teaching and preaching the Bible. He and Elsie opened their home to a weekly Bible study for over 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elsie and his son, Tim, who resides with his wife, Janet, in California. Express your thoughts and condolences at www.colonialchapel.com 708-532-5400
