Raymond Eugene Beaudry Jr.

(1947-2024)

Raymond (Ray) Beaudry Jr. passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Diagnosed with cancer, he faced his illness with unwavering courage, strength, and spirit, inspiring everyone around him. Ray was a devoted father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and a loyal friend to many. His love and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

Born on October 31, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Raymond Eugene Beaudry and Dorothy (Gaskin) Beaudry, Ray spent his childhood in Merrionette Park and attended St. Christina’s Catholic School. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Illinois.

Ray proudly served as a Radio Teletype Team Chief in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While stationed at Marble Mountain near Da Nang, he earned multiple medals for his service, conduct, and marksmanship. On June 23, 1973, Ray married Janice (Kondry) Beaudry, and together they raised their three sons, David (Kim), Daniel (Carolyn), and Michael Beaudry.

In the summer of 1975, Ray and Janice settled in Worth, Illinois, where they built their family and formed lifelong friendships. It was there that the “Maynards” came together, forging bonds that endured across generations.  Ray began his career as a local truck driver, later transitioning to cross-country trucking before settling with Dominicks Finer Foods as a local driver in 1987. He took pride in his work and was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Union.

Ray’s greatest joys were spending time with his family at Table Rock Lake in Missouri, boating, and fishing. He had a passion for woodworking, crafting clocks and furniture. His garage was filled with tools—a collection he was always willing to expand.  Ray also enjoyed making motorcycle runs to Sturgis with friends, listening to old country music, watching CNN, and reading books. Reserved by nature, Ray expressed his love through quiet actions and unwavering support, always ready to help those closest to him whenever they needed it.

Ray was a grandfather to Julianne, Sarah, Ryan, Sydney, and Ava Beaudry. He was a brother to Robert, Kenneth (deceased), and Phillip Beaudry, and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering and celebrating Ray’s life.
