Pauline Fitzsimons

(Polly) Linda Pauline Fitzsimons, age 72, long time resident of Matteson, IL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 5th, 2023, at Hospital. She was born February 19th, 1951, in Tennessee, daughter of the late Violet Mae Darks/Spain and Robert John Henry Spain.

Polly is preceded in death by her loving husband David Fitzsimons, her parents Violet and Robert Spain, of her siblings; Mary Rebecca (Becky) Spain, Robert Lee Spain, Ronald Ray (Ronnie) Spain, and James Edward Spain, and her grandson Robert (Robbie) Fitzsimons. She is survived by one sibling Floyd McKenly (Bubble) Spain, her four children; Her son John Fitzsimons (wife Kimberly Fitzsimons) of Bristol, TN, her daughter Kerrie Fitzsimons (partner Larry Paraday) of Schererville, IN, her daughter Kimberly Davis (husband Jay Davis) of Crete, IL, and son Michael Fitzsimons (wife Kelly Beckefeld) of Crete, IL. 12 grandchildren; Ashley Davis (partner Timothy wade) of Crete, IL, Kourtnea Fitzsimons (fiancé Michael Leonard) of Bristol, TN, Kyle Fitzsimons (partner Elizabeth Garver) of Bristol, TN, Chase Fitzsimons of Bristol, TN, Cody Davis of Crete, IL, Anthony Banez of Schererville, IN, Katie Cooley (husband Landis Cooley) of Bourbonnais, IL, Dylan Fitzsimons of Crete, IL, Joesph Winkleman of Michigan, and Kayla Fitzsimons of Crete, IL and Stevie and Haily Schaefer. 9 Great grandchildren; Cameron of Crete, IL, Jennifer of Crete, IL, Kelsey Childress of Bristol, TN, Alexis of Crete, IL, Ryleigh of Crete, IL, Landis Cooley Jr. of Bourbonnais, IL, aria Cooley of Bourbonnais, IL, Allen Fitzsimons of Bristol, TN, and Arlo Fitzsimons of Bristol, TN.

Polly was born in Nashville, TN February 19th, 1951, to Violet and Robert Spain. The family moved to Illinois around 1953 when Polly was two. She attended High school and graduated, and she married David Allen Fitzsimons March 22nd, 1969. There was nothing Polly loved more than her family. She was a long-time worker at the VFW post #5220 and a caretaker for many years, and worked at Citgo deli in Matteson, IL. She loved music and playing cards which she shared with all the children. She loved to laugh and have a good time. To know Polly was to love her and to love her meant you were blessed beyond measure. She was the matriarch to a fierce family, and she will forever be missed.

Services will be held Saturday February 17th, 2024, from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
