Paul Lee, age 59, passed away suddenly on December 28th, 2023. Cherished husband of Linda Lee, nee Janulis. Devoted father of Alix (Joseph) Gerringer, Dylan (Charles Post) Lee and Nicole Lee. Proud grandfather of Brooklyn and Madison Gerringer. Loving brother of James (Rebecca) Lee, Robert Lee and Leslie (Joe) Savino. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his mother Rosemary Lee (Klinowski) and his father Eugene Lee.
Paul was a life-long resident of Oak Forest and graduated from Andrew High School. As a parent, he worked very hard to provide for his family. For over 30 years, he was a proud union member of 705 and drove as a semi driver in the Chicagoland area. Meeting new people on the road brought passion to his work. Paul served as a union steward and was held in high esteem by those he represented.
Paul loved to sit on the water looking for eagles, whether it was the Mississippi River, the Kankakee River, or Lake Michigan. In his free time, he enjoyed putting together model cars. Since a model car would be started before the last one was finished, many of them are uncompleted. His passion for antique trains took after his late father, who was a fireman on the Illinois Central Railroad. Grandma Lee’s house in Missouri is one of his most cherished possessions, and throughout his life, he built a strong connection with Aunts and Uncles who live in the area. Vacations in Missouri included going to the shut ins, star gazing, and building a garden on the four acres of land. He was well known as the unofficial chef and some family favorites are his biscuits and gravy and his #1 award winning chicken.
Paul was over the moon about his grandkids, Brooklyn and Madison. From the time they were born, some of his best memories were showing his love to them by celebrating birthdays, bringing the whole family together on holidays, and giving gifts on Christmas.
For many years, Paul was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and served alongside followers of Christ by cooking for the men’s breakfast and oodles of noodles. It was there that Paul heard the preaching of the Gospel, learned of Christ’s sacrifice for his sins, and confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
