Patrick John "Pat" Riley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on December 4th, 2024. Known for his kindness and generosity, Pat was a caretaker to everyone he met, including in his work as a nurse and healthcare professional. His warm spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was a devoted husband to his wife Moira, whom he affectionately called his “honey." These college sweethearts had a love story filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering commitment.
As a grandfather, Pat was second to none. He cherished his role as “G-Pa” and always had time for his grandchildren, whether it was attending their concerts, helping with homework, or simply spending time with them. He often reminded them, "I'm a lucky guy," and "no one loves you like I do."
Pat's philosophy on life was simple yet profound: "Don't sweat the small stuff--- it's all small stuff." This mindset allowed him to navigate life's challenges with grace and gratitude. As a statement to this philosophy, Pat often went by "PJR" to many that knew and loved him.
Pat’s legacy of positivity and love for his family will be carried on by those whom he cherished. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Moira (nee Evoy); his three children Kate (Adam) Rotsch, Sean (Joy) Riley, and Seamus (fianceé Brenna Ford); and five grandchildren Maddy, Annie, Patrick, Ziggy, and Navy. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Francis and Mildred Riley, and his sisters Joanie (late Bob) Kroll and Janet (late Butch) Levy. Pat was a dear brother-in-law to Moira's siblings, Kathy (Joe) Roach, Sharon (Jerry) Sebestyen, Patrick (Leslie) Evoy, Eileen (Ken) Davidson, Joanne Evoy and the late Dan Ryan and the late Richie Evoy. He was the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
