Olga Radulescu, age 77, fell asleep on December 1, 2022 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 55 years to Teodor Radulescu, loving mother of Beatrice, (Gabriel), and Sebastian, cherished grandmother of Cosette, (Parker), Adele, David, and Erik. She was preceded in death by her sister Florica Leseanu, and her brother Tudor Mudracenco.
Born to a Ukrainian mother and Romanian father, Olga grew up in the austere Communist Regime that ruled her birth country of Romania. Accustomed to hardships, the most difficult being her mother dying at age 14, Olga developed a strong, determined and ambitious personality mingled with perpetual optimism. Her bright, energetic demeanor and contagious laughter made her future husband, Teodor, fall in love with her, a love that will know no end.
Together with her husband, she attended medical school in Bucharest, Romania, and started their lives of service as medical doctors. Olga was a caring physician and especially loved helping mothers and their young children. Besides treating her patients during clinic hours, she would make house visits and be on call during nighttime. Her greatest reward was to see the joy in the eyes of her patients.
Olga was a devoted wife and mother. She loved, honored and supported her husband with all her heart. Through sickness and health, she was by his side. She tenderly loved her children and grandchildren and gave them an example of an ideal mother and grandmother.
In 1978, Olga accepted Christ as her personal Savior and become a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her love for God increased and her faith was only strengthened as the Communist regime imposed significant persecution on her and her family for keeping the Sabbath day holy. But nothing could move her away from Christ, the source of her strength. Until her last breath she shared the love of God with everybody she met. Until her last heartbeat she was a missionary. Even though she will have to wait in her grave for a while, the day will soon come when “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven…and the dead in Christ will rise …and thus we shall always be with the Lord” 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17).
