Norman Hawker

Norman J. “Skip” Hawker, US Army Korean War Veteran, age 85, of Tinley Park, IL, passed away at his winter home in Apache Junction, AZ on April 2, 2018. Beloved husband for 65 years to Katherine “Kay”, nee Gester. Loving father of Karin (Jeff) Floyd and Joseph (Dee) Hawker. Cherished grandfather of Joseph (Jayme) Hawker and Justin (Heather) Hawker; and Emyli (Andrew) Quain and Brett Floyd. Dearest great-grandfather of Mady, Avery and James Norman Hawker; and Ellen and Vivian Quain. Fond brother of the late Robert Hawker and Rick Marlow. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Retired from the Rock Island Railroad after 43 years of service. Skip was a lover of life and a proud family man. He was a life-long Cubs fan, member of the VFW Post 2580 and an avid fisherman.

Visitation Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Evangelical Community Church, 2237 W. 120th St., Blue Island, IL 60406, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to immediately follow.

Interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
