Nick P. Marino, 96, late of Tinley Park, formerly of Chicago (South Chicago). Retired C.F.D. and US Army Veteran Korean Conflict. Beloved son of his late parents, Samuel and Benedicta (nee Bogdan). Loving husband of 67 years of Barbara (nee Barbich). Devoted father of; Paul, Beth, James, and Steven. Loving brother of his 7 late siblings. Dearest grandfather of 9. Dearest great-grandfather of 8. Fond uncle and friend of many. Nick had a true love for the Chicago Fire Dept., and enjoyed his work immensely. He was an avid tennis player, and played well into his 80's, even competing on the Senior Olympics Team where he was awarded numerous medals. He had a love for the Chicago White Sox, and cheered for any opponent of the Chicago Cubs. He was also a Notre Dame football fan, and held a season pass where he enjoyed many a game in person. He loved to attend parties, and was proud to be the "last to leave". Nick was also very proud of his Croatian heritage! Memorial Visitation, Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 9th at 10:00am. Interment Holy Cross, Calumet City. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nick's name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Chicago Fire Dept. Widow's and Orphan's Fund appreciated.
