Michael E. Ethington

Michael E. Ethington, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home on August 22, 2026. Beloved husband for 42 years to Colleen, nee Masson. Loving father of Madelyn (Kyle Christensen) Ethington and Sarah (Justin) Meyer. Dear brother of Nancie (Andrew) Wells, late Kathi (Tom) Orcutt, Richard (Debbie) Ethington and Anne (late Joe) Schmidt. Fond brother-in-law of Pamela Masson and John Masson. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Michael was dog lover and was a grandfather to many dogs. He was an auto mechanic who loved cars and car racing. He often joked with a smile “Cars fear me and chicks dig me.” Michael also enjoyed golfing and organized many outings. His dedication, know-how and fun-loving spirit made him stand out. He will be remembered for his love of life and the good times he shared.

Visitation Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 3-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 9300 W. 167th St., Orland Hills, IL on Thursday, August 27, 2026 for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment private.
