Michael Du Puy of Oak Lawn IL passed away on July 18, 2025, after a long stay in the hospital at the age of 77.
Born on December 30th, 1947, to Howard and Elizabeth Du Puy who predeceased him, in Escanaba Michigan. He was the oldest brother to Denese, deceased, (Roscoe), Carol (Fred) Mc Laflin, and Brian (Pam) Du Puy.
Mike was the father to three girls: Michelle (Xavier), Linda (Chuck) and Tracy (Scott) and stepfather to Anthony (Diane) Wuethrich. He was Papa to 20 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
His passion was his family. He was known to be a kid at heart himself, so it was only natural to find him rough housing with them.
He and his wife Linda of 46 years enjoyed traveling and camping, going to muscle car shows, and spending time with their animals.
His character is attested to by his keen work ethic, working multiple jobs at a time for most of his life. He had a strong sense of discipline, family and compassion.
His life included working in the church, taking on leadership roles in the Foresters Fraternal Organization and the Boy Scouts. He helped in Aglow International and sang in a couple of choirs.
He was a true “Man’s Man” and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
