Michael C. Ashum, Sr., age 76, loving husband of Ronna Lee (Doty) Ashum, father of Janet (Jim) High, Michael (Shasta) Ashum Jr. and Steven (Anna) Ashum. Proud grandfather of Jimmy (Gennifer) High, Megan (Christopher) Luttrell, Sarah (Shae) Mowry, Ryan Ashum, Adam High and Steven Ashum Jr. Great-Grandfather (GGPa) of Natalee, Paityn, Liam, Chloe, Mora, Gabby, Henry, Silas and Audrey. Son of the late William and Herberta Ashum, brother of Patricia McGraw and the late Marilyn Sinclair and Nancy Fyfe. Half-Brother of the late Albert, William, Catherine, and Margaret. Loving Uncle to so many and a friend to all he met.
A lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Mike loved God and gave much of his heart and energy to his church. A devoted family man, Mike found joy in loving and giving selflessly to others. Founded in 1926 by his father, Mike continued the legacy of Ashum Motor Express until the day he passed. At the center of his joy was gazing at and riding in trains and building model railroads. Be it a cellular phone or VCR, Mike was often the first to own the latest technology. As a patriot, Mike loved his country, and passionately spoke about politics. Lastly (and to the chagrin of so many that loved him) a hallmark of Mike’s personality was his penchant for devious humor, pranks and general tomfoolery (AK Leader/ AK Forces Forever).
