Maryann (Nee Latina) Dwornik

MaryAnn Dwornik, age 74, of Tinley Park passed away on January 10, 2024.  She was the beloved wife of Daniel for 47 years and the eldest daughter of the late Theresa and Eli Latina and stepdaughter of the late Stanley Lukowski. MaryAnn is survived by sister Nonie (Charles) Czajka of Forest Hill, MD, Donna (Joseph) Heaney of Moor Park, CA and brother Eli of Ocean Springs, MS as well as many nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by them and many long-time friends.  MaryAnn and her husband enjoyed and active family life.  As an avid Cubs fan she brought nieces and nephews on trips to Cubs conventions including sitting for photos with star baseball players Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg and many others. She also participated in a Cubs West Coast 1974 fan tour for games in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.  In San Francisco baseball star Joe DiMaggio greeted the tour fans.  MaryAnn's family lived in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago, and she graduated from Washington High School. She worked many years at Fireman's Fund Insurance Companies and Sonnenschein, Nath and Rosenthal Law. Visitation January 16 from 3-8pm at Maher Funeral Home, 17101 71st Av. Tinley Park. Funeral Wednesday, 9:15 prayers at the funeral home processing to St. George Church for a 10:00 Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park.
