Mary Joan "JoAnn" returned home to our Lord and Savior on August 13, 2024. Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1936, she attended Chicago Christian High School in Englewood where, at the age of 16, she met Bob (Robert). She married the love of her life, Bob, in 1954. For nearly seventy years, she and Bob shared their lives in making an extraordinary family raising six children, and were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mary's love, devotion and sacrifice can never be replaced. She will be so dearly missed.
As a devout Christian and charter member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, Mary instilled the love of God in her family. She shared her time with others at Bible studies, vacation Bible schools and her church.
Mary loved playing the piano, singing songs, knitting, making beautiful quilts, piecing together puzzles and making doll houses. She also loved having fun playing games and cards with her family and friends. Some of her most favorite times were spent traveling with Bob and their friends and enjoying the beautiful views off their balcony in the Florida Keys.
We Praise our Lord as He welcomed her into the arms of our Lord and Savior.
