Mary Dowling

Mary J. Dowling, nee Gadbois, age 90, beloved wife of 57 years to the late Jerry F. Dowling. Loving mother of David (Janice), the late William F., Mary (the late Martin) Simon and the late Barbara. Cherished grandmother of William (Karla) Simon, Jeremiah (Rebecca) Dowling, Christopher Dowling, Erin Sienkiewicz and Samantha Dowling (fiancé Brandon Bibro). Dearest great-grandmother of Sarah, Paige, Jacob, Jillian, the late Kaden, Scarlett and Theodore. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend and traveling buddy of Irene Shrader. The family is grateful for the generosity of dear family friend, Sam Skornicki.

Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed challenging crossword puzzles, a master gardener and craft enthusiast. She taught ceramics for many years and created beautiful momentos for family and friends. She loved listening and dancing to the music of the big bands. Mary adored her animals, especially her dogs, Hogey and Kirby.

Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Cajetan Church, 2445 W. 112th St., Chicago, IL on Saturday, July 9, 2022 for a Memorial Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment private at St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
