Mary Booth

Mary C. Booth, age 93, of Peoria, IL, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, IL. She was born in Peoria, March 1, 1922, to Gerald and Jeannette (Carson) Daily Schutz. She graduated from Peoria Manual High School in 1940 and married the late Fred Booth on December 3, 1945. Mary worked for many years at Methodist Hospital of Peoria in the laboratory department until retiring in 1986 and moving to live by Chautauqua Lake near Havana, IL. In 2011 she moved to Hanover Place in Tinley Park, IL to live near her niece. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Daily, and sisters: Margaret Newcomb, Betty Powers, Shirley Clark, Evelyn Day, Nancy Gaumer and her niece Pamela (Gaumer) Tranchitella. Mary is survived by nieces and nephews: Phillip, Maureen and Eugene Daily; David and Jim Newcomb; Karen (Newcomb) Norton; Colleen (Powers) Sands; Debbie (Clark) Sledge; Linda, Michael, Paul, Terry and Christine Day; Cynthia Gaumer and many great nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her energy, sense of humor and love of friends and family. Cremation will be accorded.
