Marilyn R. "Mert" Schutt

Marilyn R. “Mert” Schutt, nee Ellerie, age 96, beloved wife for 74 years to the late Andrew Schutt (2023). Loving mother of Kenneth (Carol) Schutt, Gary (Joan) Schutt, Andy (Chris) Schutt, David (Laura) Schutt and the late Linda (late Raymond) Lewis and the late Judy Schutt. Cherished grandmother of 15. Dearest great-grandmother of 29 and great-great-grandmother of one. Dear sister of the late Clarence (late Marge) Ellerie. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was a homemaker who loved providing great meals and amazing baked goods for her husband and six children. She loved roller skating, bowling, garage saleing, and daily coffee time with her beloved neighbor lady friends. Later in life she enjoyed travel, Florida winters, and volunteer work at Palos Hospital and Pass It On Thrift Store. A fine Christian woman, she loved her church and spent every morning in Bible devotions and was passionate in her support of many different ministries. Marilyn was the last remaining member of the large Schutt family that had the Ridgeland Avenue farm in Worth, Illinois.

Visitation Monday, February 23, 2026 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL.
