Marilyn Irene Giusti Miller was born in January 1946 to John (Giovanni Enrico) & Helen (Heidenblut) Giusti. She grew up in Worth and attended Eisenhower High school before securing a position at Allis-Chalmers and, later, Midwest Operating Engineers. Prior to that, she was an accomplished musician, playing her accordion at the Palmer House and teaching music classes. She met and married Jon R. Miller in 1975 and subsequently had Victoria (TJ) Foxworth and Jon (Kelly) while not only working full time and helping Jon run his real estate business, but also while going to night school for accounting at the University of St. Francis, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA one month before giving birth to Mary (Seth Du Toit).
After graduating, Marilyn secured a job doing travel finance at Servicemaster and subsequently Aramark. Marilyn's gift of gab made her position at Casual Corner a great fit (she once traveled to Ireland and saw the Blarney Stone) and her kind heart never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Instead of retiring when her Aramark division was outsourced, she turned her hard work and talent toward the legal profession, working as an invaluable member of team McCready, Garcia and Leet until the shadow of multiple myeloma fell over her. She spent her last days at home surrounded by family and friends.
She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, having one of the most beautiful yards in Arbury Hills. She also enjoyed bird watching from her deck and singing in the church choir at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church in Mokena, but her favorite moments were times spent traveling with her family to Ireland, Florida, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Michigan and North Carolina as well as her cross country trek with her favorite aunt.
She will be greatly missed by her companion, Jim Young, her friends and most of all, her children and grandchildren: Andrew, Maisie (Jon), Finley (Victoria) and Darien (Mary). She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law, Pam (Jack), brother-in-law, Jim (Sue) and her beloved husband, Jon, as well as her beloved pets: King, Taffy, Feral, Jezebel and Gretchen.
A Memorial Service will be held on
