Marian E. Block

Marian E. Block, nee Ries, age 96, beloved wife for 67 years to the late Marvin W. Block (2018). Loving mother of Cynthia (Alan) Szymanski and the late Andrew (Linda) Block. Cherished grandmother of Paul (Amanda) Szymanski, April Szymanski, Anne (John) Robinson; Melanie (Michael) Pagliuco and Carl (Jassyn) Block. Dearest great-grandmother of Logan, Alexa, Saylor, Brody and Theodore. Dear sister of Dr. Charles (Rosemary) Ries, Susan (late Bill) Kruse, Theodore (Ana) Ries, and the late Al (Mary Lou) Ries. Dear sister-in-law of Gladys Block. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Marian graduated from Illinois State University in 1951. Over the years she worked for Clark Equipment Company in Chicago, Trinity Lutheran School in Tinley Park, Wallace Herdlein & Associates in Tinley Park and Do-Rite Die & Engineering Co., Inc. in South Chicago Heights. In her later years she became accomplished at Brailling for the blind.

Visitation at Trinity Lutheran Church 6850 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, IL 60477 on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
