Treasured daughter of the late Richard and Edith Prins. Sister to the late Alice (1933). Aunt to many. Friend to thousands.

Marian was a devoted member of her churches. She actively contributed to her community through her involvement in various church activities, including starting a chapter of Calvinettes and serving on the Calvinettes board. Marian's dedication to her faith extended to participating in Bible studies and lending her support to the Jackson Creek Food Pantry. She was also actively engaged in WINGS (Women in God's Service), making a meaningful impact through her service. Marian's compassionate spirit led her to spend time in the Dominican Republic with the Christian Medical Society, where she selflessly cared for others.

In search of warmth and tranquility, she spent her winters in Pine Island, Florida, for 25 years, finding solace in the community and surroundings. Independence was vital to Marian, and she treasured her car and ability to drive as symbols of her self-reliance. Her determination to maintain her independence led her to renew her driver's license until June of 2023.

Marian held her parents in high regard as her heroes and a source of inspiration. Their influence shaped her lifelong commitment to learning and her openness to acquiring new knowledge and skills.
Christmas held a special place in Marian's heart, and she transformed the season into a magical time of joy and wonder. She delighted in the company of her lifelong friends and embraced the opportunity to forge new connections along her journey.

Marian's memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Her unwavering faith, dedication to service, thirst for knowledge, and ability to create joy will continue to inspire others. She leaves behind a legacy of love, independence, and a heart that embraced the beauty of friendship and the spirit of Christmas.
Marian had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel valued and cherished, as she had the ability to make anyone in her presence feel like the most important person in the room. Her family held immeasurable importance in her life, and she always reminded each member that they wouldn't be here without her. Marian loved bringing her family together, creating moments filled with joy, laughter, and an inclusive spirit where everyone was considered family--there were no "in-laws".

Every day, Marian sought guidance from the Lord, actively listening with her heart to discern His will for her. Her life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to live as a devout Christian, reflecting her faith in every aspect of her being.

In honoring Marian's memory, she would wish for everyone to find joy and celebrate the life she lived. May her legacy inspire others to embrace love, togetherness, and a life lived in devotion to God and the people around them.
