Maria "Mia" Ines Zamora

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother Maria "Mia" Ines Zamora, who passed away on June 9, 2024 at the young age of 50 due to Breast Cancer. She resided in New Lenox for over 1 year, with her 3 kids, up to the time of her passing.

She was born on November 21, 1973 in Blue Island, Illinois to Antonio F.  and Maria L. Zamora. She was the 4th oldest of all their 6 kids.

Maria is survived by her husband Javier, her three daughters: Mia (29), Marisa (27), Mitaliha (11), and cat Precious (14), her siblings: Tony, Ana, Rosario, Carlos, Enrique, and Ryan, and aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Everyone will remember her as being funny, caring, loving, generous, and putting other's concerns, sadness, and interests before her own. She was the most selfless person I know.

Maria had been a stay-at-home mom ever since her oldest was born. She enjoyed cooking, was obsessed with cleaning (loved a neat house), eating, listening to classic and alternative rock music, gardening, binge watching her favorite shows and movies, and eating at breakfast cafés often with her family. She always enjoyed being outdoors and in nature, and with her kids, dreamt of being in and moving to a more scenic and peacful city and state with lots of mountains, forests, and log cabins. She had plans to travel to Tennessee (Gatlinburg and surroundings) this year and wanted to move out there eventually along with her girls, but unfortunately, she was taken too soon before getting to experience any of this. This hurts the most, her dreams not being achieved. Her daughters want to take a memorial trip out to Tennessee this fall, to honor their mom and complete all the activities and see the places that their mom wanted to see and do out there.

Her family and kids will honor her by living their lives to the fullest, venturing out to try new things, traveling to where they want to go, and being more in touch with nature and the great outdoors.

Mom, we will think of you every single day and cry for you often. We love you.
