Margaret M. "Marge" Nelson, nee Olenec , age 77, beloved wife for 56 years to Benjamin "Ben" Nelson. Loving mother of Jeffrey (Deb Dittmann) Nelson, Kevin (Jessica) Nelson and Eric (Tim Cage) Nelson. Cherished grandmother of Madelyn, Abigail and Sophia. Devoted daughter of the late Andrew and Olga (nee Winiarski) Olenec. Dearest sister of Edward (Kay) Olenec. Dear sister-in-law of Judy (Jerry) Burke and Karin (Michael) Nelson-Rogers. Fond aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Marge graduated from Loyola University of Chicago. She was past President of the Tinley Park Library, where her passion for reading was evident. An avid traveler, she cherished spending quality time with family and friends. Marge had a fulfilling career as a teacher in the Kirby School District 140, shaping the minds of many young students. Deeply rooted in her heritage, she took pride in her family's history, as her grandparents were among the founders of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Chicago's Ukrainian Village. Above all, Marge was a loving grandmother, always eager to support her grandchildren in every activity.

Visitation Friday, September 20, 2024 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. from Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL to St. Julie Billiart Church, 7399 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, IL. Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
