PARK FOREST - Magda Aremi, 35, of Park Forest passed away on February 14, 2025.

Magda Aremi was born on September 24, 1989, in Guadalajara, Jal., the daughter of Romelia Mendez. She graduated D.Dwight Eisenhower High School and attended Everett Community College and Moraine Valley Community College. She worked at Taft School of Harvey, IL  as an educator for many years. She enjoyed eating, gardening, singing and dancing to music, sharing her humor, and above all loving her children.

She will be remembered for her beautiful soul, big heart, untamed spirit, telling it how it is and for having a smile and laugh that filled any room. To many of us, she was a fighter and now she will be forever young in our memories.

Survivors include her children, (son) Noe’ll A. Gonzalez-Mendez, (daughters) Kamila A. Gonzalez-Mendez and Georgina Z. Gonzalez- Mendez; partner, Jose A. F. Gonzalez; mother,Romelia Tolentino (Mendez);step-father, Juan Tolentino-Sixtos of Blue Island; siblings, Mayra Mendez-Ortiz (Ernesto J. Ortiz)  of Lansing , Jose E. Mendez (Sandy Geris) of Blue Island; Juan Tolentino-Mendez of Blue Island; Jacquelen Tolentino-Mendez of Blue Island; she is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at Maher Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.,

Family and friend are asked to meet directly at St. Casimir Church on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, for a 10:00 am mass, followed by procession to Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum.
