Lois Filipiak

Lois Peace Filipiak, age 93, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Willow Falls in Crest Hill, IL which had been her home for 14 years.

Lois was born on April 24, 1930 in Chattanooga, TN, the youngest daughter of Stuart Melton Peace, Sr. and Matilda Bywater Peace.

She was a talented seamstress, a member of the church choir at every church she attended, and an executive secretary at several firms, including Continental Bank and the Chicago Club.

She was blessed with a daughter, Jill (Mark) Hahs, and four grandchildren. Known as "Sweet Aunt Lois", she also leaves to mourn her passing many nieces and nephews, and the many friends who enjoyed her happy, outgoing personality.

She was predeceased by her brother Stuart M. Peace, Jr., her sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Baldi, Bobbie June McAmis, and Ethelyn "Lynn" Willicombe. Also, her husbands, Walter M. Rogers and James S. Filipiak.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Willow Falls for all the TLC given to Lois over the many years. They treated her with respect and kindness and made her smile.

Visitation Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6850 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, IL 60477 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. A live stream of the funeral service will be available. The link is posted below. Interment Bethania Cemetery, Justice, IL.
