Linda A. Preuss, nee Hoyne, age 77, beloved wife for 45 years to Graham H. Preuss. Devoted daughter of the late Ernie and Vicki (nee Klaczek) Hoyne. Dear sister-in-law of Linda “Bunny” Hoyne and Donald (Gay) Preuss. Fond aunt of Jamie (Daniel) Fanton, Neil (Liza) Hoyne, Tifany Hoyne, Daniel Preuss and Timothy (Stephanie) Preuss. Dearest great-aunt of Caylin and Emmerson Fanton, Hamilton and Elizabeth Hoyne, MacKenzie Hoyne, Natalie and Levi Preuss.

Linda will be remembered as a woman of deep faith, gentle strength, and a loving heart. Above all, she was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Graham, with whom she shared more than 45 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life marked by love, loyalty, generosity, and care for one another.

Her faith in Christ was at the very center of who she was. It shaped her values, guided her life, and gave her strength. She faithfully prayed for the people she loved and was always grateful for the prayers offered for her and Graham. Her quiet trust in God was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and grace she showed to others every day.

She was deeply devoted to her family and was loved dearly in return. Her nieces, nephews, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s families all knew the warmth of her love and the comfort of her caring presence. She also held a special role as godmother to Jamie, a relationship she cherished.

Linda had a kind and generous spirit. She and Graham welcomed family with open hearts, hosting gatherings that brought people together and created treasured memories. Their generosity extended beyond the family as well, as they faithfully supported numerous charities and gave freely to causes close to their hearts.

She worked for 39 years with Sidley Austin law firm before retiring, offering years of dedication and commitment. Outside of work, she found joy in reading, researching, and learning, especially when it came to medical information that helped her care for Graham so lovingly. She also had a unique interest in astrology and simply enjoyed the pleasure of going out to eat.

Some of her happiest times were the simple ones spent with Graham—especially their short driving trips to Wisconsin. Those outings brought her great joy, and meals at the Machine Shed Restaurant were among her favorite treats.

Linda leaves behind the memory of a life beautifully lived—one rooted in faith, love, service, and devotion. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
