Loving wife and soulmate of Peter LeCleir. He was the love of her life.
Beloved and cherished daughter of the late Elaine M. (Martin) and Joseph J. Wiziecki.
True friend, devoted doctor and treasured dog mom of Sadie Marie.
Lara was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois at Little Company of Mary Hospital. She grew up in Oak Lawn and enjoyed a wonderfully happy childhood afforded by the hard work of her Mom and Dad. Lara attended Gasteyer School, then Sward School and graduated from Oak Lawn High School where she was a pom pom girl, stat girl and was in theater.
Lara then went on to Saint Xavier University. It was there that she discovered a love for science. During her time there, she worked as a phlebotomist at the hospital where she was born. After years of working in the hospital, Lara discovered a love of medicine. In her senior year, she changed her major to Pre-Med. After a long journey of bills, study, self reflection and literal blood and tears, she graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She was a resident in Emergency Medicine at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and following years of training, enjoyed a career full of various Emergency Medicine jobs that also included Urgent Care and most recently Telemedicine. It was Lara’s honor and privilege to provide care to those in need.
Lara was an extremely generous, thoughtful and creative person. Lara loved gardening, traveling, and shopping. She loved to go on adventures with Pete. She was the consummate hostess and planner of good times. She will be deeply and genuinely missed.
She would like to thank all those who helped her along the way, including the many doctors, family and friends who saw the promise in her and helped it bloom. A special thank you to K.C. for providing the means to bring her together with the love of her life.
To honor Lara’s memory, plant flowers, write a thank you note, be good to yourself and others or enjoy a lemon drop martini or Coca Cola.
