Kenneth Alan Stark, age 66, beloved and treasured son of Gloria Stark, nee Bayer and the late Donald K. Stark (2020). Loving nephew, cousin and friend of many.
Ken was one of the first residents at Bethshan Association in 1983. He also attended Elim Christian Services. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and quick smile. Ken loved big trucks, nice suits, and carrying around a briefcase. His favorite event was going to the car show. Ken was able to play the piano by ear and would often work on getting the melody of hymn or song correct for hours. When Ken was younger he participated in Special Olympics. Ken had a loud, deep voice that he would use to get people’s attention from across the room. He had nicknames and inside jokes for everyone. Ken would sing commercial jingles and alter the words to make a joke or add what he liked. Each year Ken would make a list for Santa that he would start December 26 for the next year. It always contained the same things: an office desk, Peterbilt hat, truck calendar, and a suit from the Suitery. Ken went to Orland Park Christian Reformed Church. He would sing along to every hymn, whether he knew the words or not, for all to hear. He liked to stand at the door and shake parishioners’ hands as they would leave. Ken liked to be a representative of Bethshan and greet everyone that visited. We will all miss him waving as we enter the building saying “hey buddy”.
