Kathleen Fehland

Kathleen H. "Kathy" Fehland, age 79, of Tinley Park, Illinois passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on March 14, 2025. Kathy was born in Joliet, IL on May 21,1945. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura Fehland of Monee, Illinois. She was the dear sister of Sharon (late James) Batterman of Bluffton, SC (and Park Forest, IL). Beloved Aunt of Craig (Tanya) Batterman of Springfield, IL, and Kristin (Glenn) Keller of Hilton Head Island, SC. Cherished Great Aunt of Emma, Grace and Sam Batterman, and Laura and Jack Keller. Along with many dear Cousins and Friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Laura Fehland, and her brother-in-law James Batterman. Along with her dear friend Vi.

Kathy was employed with Feldco Windows as a Contract Processing Administrator in South Chicago for the last 22 years of her career. Prior to her career at Feldco she was an Administrative Assistant with Hirsch Funeral Homes in Chicago Heights, IL, and prior to Hirsch she was a Vice President at American National Bank in Crete, IL.

Kathy most enjoyed traveling in the final years of her life to include the many trips with her cousins, and her sister Sharon to European Countries, Hawaii, and Hilton Head Island, SC. She also loved travel with her friend Betty to anywhere on the coast where they could watch the sunsets, and ocean waves.

Kathy loved her family and friends deeply; she had a passion for pleasing others but was not afraid to call you out either. She will be remembered for her signature comments and passion to always help the ones she loved.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to: The staff at Silver Cross Hospital (New Lenox) for the exceptional care she received. Doctors: Dr. Farooq Hussain (Primary Care Professionals-Silver Cross Hospital) who was her primary care physician for many years, and who helped her navigate her medical journey. Dr. Sunil Narula, Oncologist, New Lenox, IL who in the short time of her diagnosis, and passing was simply exceptional in his attention to detail, and his compassion for helping her fight this cancer diagnosis. Also, the Nurses and Staff at Smith Crossing Skilled Nursing Facility in New Lenox, IL and Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet, IL.

Family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life in her honor on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Balagio Ristorante, 17501 Dixie Highway, Homewood, IL 60430 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
