Joyce M. Persenaire, nee Brummel, age 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, June 12, 2020. Beloved wife for 61 years to the late David Persenaire (2015). Loving mother of Rev. Bruce (late Joyce) Persenaire, Denise (Henry) Stob, Mary (Brian) VanStee, David (Wilma) Persenaire and Kevin (Joanne) Persenaire. Cherished grandmother of Meghann (Stacy) Persenaire, Rachel Persenaire and Joel Persenaire; Matthew (Jordan) Stob, Tom (Faye) Stob, Carolyn (Will) Stob-Gill, and Jessica (Ben) Stob-Mills; Emily (Ty) VanStee-Hillegonds, Thomas (Jana) VanStee; Melissa (Earl) Persenaire-Bloom, Anna (Davis) Persenaire-Konynenbelt; Katelyn Persenaire and Jacob Persenaire. Dearest great-grandmother of 14. Dear sister of Phyllis Groenhout, Joanne Pranger, the late Harvey Brummel, the late Robert Brummel, the late Doris Walcott and their spouses. Fond sister-in-law of Adrian, Phillip, Jess Helmus, Paul, Betty Vriend, Dorothy Vander Kruk, Robert, Helen, the late Cornelius and Ted and their spouses. Dearest aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Joyce worked for 27 years at the City Colleges as a Registrar Clerk. She was a long time union representative. Joyce was patient and giving with a good sense of humor. She enjoyed playing cards and working puzzles with both family and friends.
Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and for the safety of the family and community, a private family Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church, 7059 W. 127th St., Palos Heights, IL. While this service is limited to Joyce's immediate family only, a live-stream will be available. Burial will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
