Joseph T. Kucala, Sr., age 69, beloved husband for 48 years to Debra, nee Schmitt. Loving father of Kimberly (Douglas) Ternik, Joseph Jr. (Taryn) Kucala, Amy (Rick Skopick) Cumbee, Matthew (Megan) Kucala, and Megan (Mike) Waters. Cherished papa of Jake, Mira, Kaitlyn, Maxwell, Connor, Madison, Marek, Caleigh, Mikey, Colton, Kyla, Charlie, Lucas, and Knox. Dear brother of John (Sandra) Kucala and Jamie (Sherry Scarpaci) Kucala. Fond brother-in-law of Donna (Chuck) Orvis and Charlie (Lynn) Schmitt. Dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Whether you called him Joe, Dad or Papa, he was a hard worker and valiant spirit. He was someone who never failed to bring uncontrollable laughter to those around him (although not all stories are appropriate to share). He loved spending time with Debbie, his 5 kids and all of his grandkids either at the lake (hunting and fishing) or in Florida. He was never one to miss a breakfast with his friends or grabbing food with his brothers.

He was a man of simple words whose actions, stories, wisdom, and kindness will leave a lasting impact on us all....

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Joe's life at St. Jude Church, 241 W. Second Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451 on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Visitation at 9:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. A live-stream of the Memorial Mass will be available.
